After the incident of 9/11, the US became determined to find the roots of Al Qaeda and demolish it. The main target of the US was to take down the leader of one of the biggest terrorist groups of the world in order to make the roots of terrorism weaker and help other countries to stay safe. The US was successful in eliminating bin Laden in an encounter and they expected that terrorism will reduce in the world after this.
